This drama is derived from best-selling, prize-winning manga “Mr. Nietzsche in the convenience store”, the plot of which in turn was born from a series of popular Twitter posts detailing the real-life exploits of convenience store workers.
Matsukoma’s part-time, late-night job at a convenience store becomes infinitely more interesting with the arrival of enigmatic new part-timer Tomoharu Nii. A student of Buddhism at a local university who earns the nickname Nietzsche-sensei because of his philosophical ways, the dark and black-humored Tomoharu inevitably leaves customers and co-workers dumbfounded in his wake.
